Software develop Microsys presents a terrific software version of one of the world's most popular head-to-head board games. Backgammon Classic Pro is more than just another backgammon software version. This particular version moves toward the head of the class. Th3 game's new computer player is talented enough that this game must be designated for use by intermediate and advanced players only.

This particular version has been enhanced to include many interesting player options. The game can now be played in one of several 2-D or 3-D formats. The two primary modes are game and match. As games are played, the system accumulates statistical information that is made readily available to players. Stats and ratings can be maintained for up to twenty players at a time with a rating system that has been programmed to give players a realistic, real world idea how well they compare to a computer with a set rating of 1700 (intermediate I) based on ELO formulas.

The ability to move checkers is now easier than ever. The player only needs the left click button or tap pad to initiate all moves. The external dice generator gives the player the ability to confirm that all dice results are completely random. If the player wants to review a game from any position, all they have to do is move the checkers to any position they want and begin play from that point. They also now have the ability to export the details of an entire match in a text format that can be used by other gaming analysis systems. As for game-play, the computer will always make the most logical move based on circumstances.

The best part of the game is that it can easily be customized at the gamer's discretion. There are many new checker styles and color from which to choose. Players can dictate the speed at which the game is played, sound effects, match lengths and a variety of auto features such as auto-resign and forced auto moves. The graphics and animation are representative of a well-thought out game. Memory requirements: 1Gb RAM; 100Mb on a hard disk. The PC version of this is compatible will all versions of Microsoft's operating system.
